Waste handling bioremediation , before we telling it we must introduce Bioremediation. What's that Bioremediation? Bioremediation is an innovative waste treatment technologies, which can be a technological alternative in dealing with pollution caused by mining activities in Indonesia. This bioremediation techniques of waste handling or environmental restoration, with a relatively inexpensive operating costs, as well as friendly and safe for the environment.

Bioremediation aims to break down or degrade contaminants into less toxic materials or non-toxic (carbon dioxide and water). Bioremediation is the cleaning process soil contamination with microorganisms (fungi, bacteria). For that,  waste handling with bioremediation can match and fit the environtment.

Cleaning is cheaper and easier, consisting of cleaning, venting (injection), and bioremediation. On-site cleaning is cleaning at the site. Ex-situ bioremediation can take place more quickly, capable of remediation of contaminants and soil types are more diverse, and more easily controlled than in-situ bioremediation. There are two types of bioremediation, the in-situ (or on-site) and ex-situ (or off-site).While ex-situ bioremediation or cleaning the off-side is done by way of contaminated soil excavated and moved into a shelter that is more controllable, then given special treatment by using microbes.

There are four basic techniques commonly used within bioremediation:

1.Stimulation activity of indigenous microorganisms (in the polluted site) with the addition of nutrients, regulation of redox conditions, pH optimization, etc

2.Inoculation (planting) at the site contaminated with microorganisms, is microorganisms which has the special ability of biotransformation

3.Application of immobilized enzymes

4.The use of plants (phytoremediation) to remove or alter pollutants.

Weakness of ex-situ bioremediation is much more expensive and complicated. Ex-situ bioremediation involves excavation of contaminated soil and then taken to a safe area. Further contaminants is pumped out of the tub which was then processed with the installation of waste water processing.After that in the safe area, the land is cleared of contaminants. The trick is, the land is kept in the tub / tank is impermeable, then the cleaning agent is pumped into the tub / tank. While his lead among other things can process faster and easier to control, able to remediate the type of contaminants and soil types are more diverse.

Bioremediation process must consider include soil temperature, soil acidity, soil moisture, nature and geological structure of soil, location of pollutant sources, water availability, nutrients (N, P, K), the ratio C: N of less than 30:1, and availability of oxygen.
