Dirty water kills more people. That is, more people die from unsafe water than from all forms of violence, including war, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said in a message to commemorate World Water Day.

The UN children UNICEF noted that more than 155 million people, or 39 percent of the population in West and Central Africa, lack access to drinking water, with only eight regions from 24 countries hard to achieve the key poverty reduction targets by 2015.
